It was an early start but well worth it. We parked up in Keyhaven in time to walk along the spit to Hurst Castle arriving as the first large yachts passed by on their way towards the Needles.

After checking the various vantage points we decided to capture the action with the Needles as our backdrop.

The waters were choppy proving hard work for the sailors, but with the good weather we were able to get some great shoots of all the action.

We took a look round Hurst Castle too… needed the loo! Great views from the top but far too windy to hold our cameras still.

As the clouds blew in we opted for the short route back via the small ferry boarding just as the rain arrived. We landed as the sun returned for the walk back to the car.

It was definitely a very good event for the clubs first photo shoot… and one for next years diary!

Big thanks to Angela and Graham for a selection of their images.
